Spine and corners bumped and a little worn. Spine is very faded. Fading to edges of front board. Large white mark to rear board (possibly damp). Some marks to boards. Front board is bowed. Brown mark to rear pastedown (damp?). Foxing to endpapers, prelims and page edges. Some fingering to margins. Contained in a photocopy dustwrapper.

BIGGLES DOES SOME HOMEWORK

The final unfinished novel, never published before. On 21st June 1968 Captain W.E Johns sat down to continue writing his latest Biggles adventure, he was halfway through chapter 12 when tragically without warning he suffered a fatal heart attack. This is the first edition, limited to just 300 copies, of that unpublished novel. Appendix I includes some pages of notes found with the manuscript, Appendix II consists of a suggested chapter synopsis for the rest of the story. Appendix III adds a short passage of narrative that might possibly complete the book. The text of Biggles Does Some Homework and the notes in Appendix I are 100% genuine W.E.Johns material. The introduction and appendices II and III are by Wright and Schofield. Pictorial card wraps. B/w illustrations. Minimal rubbing to a couple of corners otherwise a fine copy. This is copy no. 44.

Blue boards with gilt title to spine. 179 pages. ISBN: 0340041943. Possibly ex-lib (but no labels or stamps). Spine and corners bumped. Damage to endpapers where the joints were once reinforced and the reinforcement has now been removed (not by us!). Removal of a label to front free-endpaper. Old tape marks to rear endpapers. Hinge between half-title and title-page is cracked. Textblock is grubby. Dustwrapper is edge worn and has a few small pieces of magic tape stuck on verso (they were holding a cover in place) and a couple of light stains to top and tail of spine (mostly visible on verso).

Price-cut wrapper is edge worn and a little grubby to rear panel, there are a few small pieces of magic tape stuck to verso of wrapper (they were holding a cover in place).

Light blue boards with gilt titles to spine. Biggles advertises his services in the hope that he can pick up the trail of a gun-running racket which is causing international concern. Spine very slightly bumped with minimal browning at top and tail. Small, light spot to centre of front cover. Pale page edge browning and a few light spots to endpapers. There has been a little seeping of binding glue to the front joint. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is just a little edge rubbed and lightly browned on spine (only visible on verso) and has a few small pieces of magic tape stuck to flaps on verso (ever so slight surface damage in one place where tape was removed). This copy would make a wonderful gift.
