Dustwrpaper (price-cut by publisher with new price 60p printed above), 12/- (60p) net in UK also printed to top corner of front flap. Minimal rubbing to edges of wrapper. A nice copy of the 2nd issue. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

Red boards, gilt title to spine. 156 pages. The final complete Biggles novel to be issued. ISBN: 0340042362. Minimal bumping to spine. Small, faint spot to top edge of textblock else contents fine. Dustwrapper has a couple of pieces of magic tape stuck on verso (they were holding a cover in place) and evidence of removal of a couple of pieces as well. A super copy. Possible 2nd printing as price on wrapper is 70p (believe earlier printing had 12- and 70p). This copy would make a wonderful gift.

Light blue boards with gilt titles to spine. Biggles advertises his services in the hope that he can pick up the trail of a gun-running racket which is causing international concern. Spine very slightly bumped with minimal browning at top and tail. Small, light spot to centre of front cover. Pale page edge browning and a few light spots to endpapers. There has been a little seeping of binding glue to the front joint. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is just a little edge rubbed and lightly browned on spine (only visible on verso) and has a few small pieces of magic tape stuck to flaps on verso (ever so slight surface damage in one place where tape was removed). This copy would make a wonderful gift.

The stories in "Biggles Learns to Fly" originally appeared in 1934 in the pages of Modern Boy. When they were collected for publication in the Boys Friend Library, the following year, an editorial hand was responsible for many small textual changes and the complete re-writing of one of the adventures. When the collections was published by Brockhampton Press in 1955 again the corrupted text was used. In this edition the stories are as published in the Modern Boy accompanied by the original illustrations. Black boards, gilt title to spine. Limited to 300 copies.
