A 'King of the Commandos' Adventure. A desperate treasure hunt in siamese jungle, which began harmlessly enough as a fishing holiday in the Highlands of Scotland. Gimlet and 'Cub' Peters lead an expedition to vindicate a dead man's faith. Green cloth, colour frontis. 8 b/w illustrations. A little wear to spine and corners. Presentation plate to front pastedown. Endpapers lightly browned with a couple of small marks to front ones. Contents very good. Dustwrapper has loss from bottom of front panel, also edge worn, torn and creased. Price-cut.

Title in English is Gimlet Comes Home. Beige boards with blue titles to spine and front board plus vignette of a stag. 188 pages. Text in French A little bumping to spine and corners and a few small marks to covers. Large corner of page 33/34 has been torn off and repaired with clear tape, which is now browned. Text affected is still readble. Pages are browned but clean. Small marks to rear pastedown. Dustwrapper is edge worn, creased and chipped with a faded spine, rear panel is a little grubby.

Top half of front endpaper is detached. Half-title and frontis are only attached by an inch at top. Front joint cracked. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Foxing, mainly to page edges. Dustwrapper is edge worn, torn and chipped, small piece of loss from bottom of front panel. Christmas sticker to front flap. Very grubby, foxed, mostly on verso.
