Contains 'Biggles Flies North,...South,...West'. B/w illustrations. Blue cloth, vignette of biplanes on front cover. 255 pages. Spine bumped and darkened with small split in cloth at back. Corners bumped and rubbed. Foxing and a few small marks to covers. Rear joint cracked. Inscription in ink to top of front pastedown. Slight wrinkling to first few page edges. Some foxing and a few marks mostly to page edges. Text block edges are grubby.

BIGGLES DOES SOME HOMEWORK

The final unfinished novel, never published before. On 21st June 1968 Captain W.E Johns sat down to continue writing his latest Biggles adventure, he was halfway through chapter 12 when tragically without warning he suffered a fatal heart attack. This is the first edition, limited to just 300 copies, of that unpublished novel. Appendix I includes some pages of notes found with the manuscript, Appendix II consists of a suggested chapter synopsis for the rest of the story. Appendix III adds a short passage of narrative that might possibly complete the book. The text of Biggles Does Some Homework and the notes in Appendix I are 100% genuine W.E.Johns material. The introduction and appendices II and III are by Wright and Schofield. Pictorial card wraps. B/w illustrations. Minimal rubbing to a couple of corners otherwise a fine copy. This is copy no. 44.

Black boards, gilt title to spine, 181 pages plus 2 page book list. It isn't surprising that the known existence of a fabulous collection of pearls should set off a chain of bloodshed and crime. Spine and corners bumped, a few tiny dents to edges of front cover. Some slight pulling to front joint. Some pale foxing else contents clean. Price-cut wrapper is edge worn and a little grubby to rear panel, there are a few small pieces of magic tape stuck to verso of wrapper (they were holding a cover in place).

Base of spine bumped, also slightly faded with line of stronger fading to top and bottom edges. Light browning to endpapers. Foxing to text block and top margin of a few pages including prelims. All plates present. Dustwrapper is a little edge worn with chips to ends of folds. Spine a little faded, rear panel a touch grubby and front panel slightly rubbed.

Wrapper is also edge-creased and chipped, with some scuffing; a little loss.
