Red boards, black titles and vignette. 8 yellow and black illustrations. Pictorial title page. 192 pages. Boards clean, shelf wear to base of spine. Foxing to text block and some page margins. Inscription in ink to front endpaper crossed out. 'that was a good story' written in ink after 'The End'. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn with slight loss, pen marks to front flap and books marked off to rear flap list.

Black boards, gilt title to spine, 181 pages plus 2 page book list. It isn't surprising that the known existence of a fabulous collection of pearls should set off a chain of bloodshed and crime. Small neat name in ink to front endpaper, cigarette odour present, else a nice copy. Pictorial dustwrapper has small name in ink to front flap, is rubbed at edges, stained at spine (mainly to verso with a slight visibility to right side) and a little grubby, small nick to lower edge of spine.
