Fair condition. Blue cloth, black title and vignette to spine. Gold stamp on front cover depicting a doubloon from 1717 as shown on b/w plate in book. Colour frontis, b/w illustrations.
Ex-library, stamp to publisher's page. Covers are darkened, worn and grubby. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Front joint is badly cracked, webbing showing, endpaper and half-title MISSING, first page present is frontis. Rear joint is weak, endpaper is holding cover in place. A couple of hinges starting to crack. Foxing and marks to contents. Loss from a couple of page margins. A reading copy.
