Slightly better than good condition in a slightly better than good dustwrapper. Blue cloth. Colour frontis and full-page b/w illustrations. Front endpaper is a map. 223 pages.

A little bumping to spine and corners. Spine faded with browning to either end. Nasty dent to outside edge of rear cover has split board in two places 0.5" apart. Text block has also been hit causing two lines of indentation and bumps to page edges. Covers grubby with a few marks. book leans to one side a little. Ink inscription and address to half-title page. A few small marks and fox spots to contents but many pages are clean. Dustwrapper has loss from top and bottom of spine and chips to ends of folds. Spine is browned and marked with small square of clear tape to front and verso repairing tear. Rear panel grubby, browned to verso.

  • During the Second World War, Biggles goes missing whilst trying to rescue an Italian princess from occupied France. Given up for dead by Colonel Raymond, his colleagues don't give up so soon and instead infiltrate the region to try and determine his whereabouts.
  • Ginger, Bertie and Algy parachute into occupied France and immediately split up to try and track down Biggles. Ginger, disguised as a Spanish onion seller, ends up getting shot and falling in love before meeting up with Biggles in a deserted village full of cats.
